Dr Jijesh Nhalila-Valappil

Principal Dentist

Some find visiting the dentist to be far from a pleasant experience. That is why, no matter the age, Dr. Jijesh goes the extra mile to ease the anxiety of his patients while diligently working to improve their smiles and overall oral health. Whether it is a filling, cosmetic procedure, or complex rehabilitation, Dr. Jijesh’s calming demeanour, gentle empathetic manner and pain management techniques provide the comfort and the confidence that his patients need to complete their treatment.

Dr. Jijesh Nhalila-Valappil is the proud owner of Palm Beach Dental and holds additional training in cosmetic dentistry, dental implants and root canal treatment . He holds a Masters in Public Health and is a member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA) as well as the esteemed American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD).

Dr Jijesh is constantly researching the latest advancements and developments to offer the best dentistry available to his patients. He lives in the local community which he serves along with his wife and two young daughters.

Dr Ross Norman

Senior Consultant

Born and educated in Brisbane, Dr Ross graduated Dentistry at University of Queensland and travelled with the RAAF, completing studies Minor Oral Surgery and Forensic Dentistry.

During 31 years of General and Special Interest Private Practice, further studies in Ortho, Fixed Pros have been undertaken and a post-graduate MBA was completed in 2012.Golf, cycling, good food and wine are enjoyed regularly and continued Professional Development combined with travel are increasing.

The patients’ comfort-quality-value dental experience is always the first priority for Dr Ross.

Michelle Oey-Shaw

Oral Health Therapist and Hygienist BComm (UQ) BOralH (UQ)

Michelle Oey-Shaw is an Oral Health Therapist with a passion for gum health. Her expertise includes gum/periodontal health and teeth whitening. She holds a Bachelor of Oral Health and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland. She grew up on the Gold Coast and after completing her studies she worked in Perth for many years before heading back home.

Michelle Oey-Shaw loves getting to know her patients and she places high emphasis on taking good care of everyone and making patients feel comfortable in the dental chair. She finds nothing as rewarding as turning a dental-phobic patient around.

In her free time, Michelle loves fitness, gymnastics, calisthenics, yoga, and hiking. She also fosters dogs (ex-racing greyhounds).

Linda Monro

Practice Manager

Linda first worked as a chair-side assistant at Palm Beach Dental in 1980 enjoying three years of service before leaving to start her family. In 1998 Linda returned to Palm Beach Dental as the receptionist and has taken on the role of Practice Manager for the past 20 years.

Linda is passionate about imparting oral health information for all patients and is helpful and compassionate whilst working at the front desk.

Linda enjoys playing netball and has been a successful coach within the sport. Travel is another passion of Linda’s and she is always heading off to explore new places.

Linda has been happily married for 40 years and has a pigeon pair Carly and Neil, whom always come back. Linda is also a very proud Nana of four beautiful grandchildren.

Kim Egan

Dental Assistant

Kim is our senior Dental Assistant working side by side with Dr Nhalila-Valappilour and Dr Norman. Kim is compassionate and helpful to all patients and goes out of her way to make her patients feel more comfortable.

Kim has a certificate III in Dental Assisting and also holds her Radiology licence. She has worked at the practice for 16 years and is a valuable member of our team.

In her spare time Kim enjoys life on the Gold Coast and is always keen to take her grandchildren out for the day when they visit.
