Veneers
Is the appearance of your smile making you feel self-conscious?
At Palm Beach Dental, our aim is for all our patients to have healthy smiles that they love. Our dental team has helped many patients achieve a beautiful and natural-looking smile with veneers.
We take pride in offering our patients the highest quality, hand-crafted porcelain veneers. Porcelain is one of the most durable and stain-resistant materials. This material also reflects light as your natural teeth would. Consequently, porcelain veneers offer the longest lasting and most natural-looking results.
Veneers offer a non-invasive, fast and effective solution to many cosmetic dental issues. Our dentists use porcelain veneers to whiten, straighten or reshape smiles – sometimes a combination of all three!
Veneers are one of the most popular cosmetic dental treatments, sometimes referred to as “instant orthodontics”. It’s important to note though, that veneers cannot change the position of your teeth. Rather, they cover up the appearance of misalignment.

From correcting misshapen, crooked or broken teeth to closing gaps and helping cover up stains, veneers help enhance the overall appearance of your smile. Porcelain veneers are custom-made, wafer-thin porcelain shells. They get bonded to the front surface of your teeth, resulting in a perfect smile with little downtime!
The process for getting porcelain veneers may vary slightly from patient to patient. Generally speaking, you can expect it to look like this:

Caring For Your Veneers
Taking good care of your veneers will help extend their life. Porcelain veneers tend to last an average of 10 to 15 years, however, with appropriate care they can last more than this.
Veneers need the same care as your teeth. They do not make your teeth immune to decay, so maintaining good oral hygiene is essential. You should brush your teeth as you normally would, twice a day. Be sure to use a soft-bristle toothbrush and brush in small and gentle circular motions. Daily flossing is also key.
You should ensure you keep up with regular dental check-ups and cleans. During a dental check-up, your dentist can check your veneers for any signs of vulnerability. They can also keep your teeth free of tartar build-up, helping keep both your teeth and veneers in their best possible condition.
Remember that anything that can chip or crack your teeth can also chip or crack your veneers. Be mindful when eating hard foods like nuts, for example. If you grind your teeth or clench your jaw, your dentist can help you protect your teeth and veneers from the excessive force this places on them with a night guard.
